The murder of Yoga Hemanth Kumar by assailants, on Thursday, at Sangareddy, has created a flutter. The 28-year-old professional from Hyderabad was dragged from his Gacchibowli residence by the relatives of his wife Avanti Reddy, whom he married on June 10. Avanti had eloped with him. They had been in love since 2012. Since Hemanth is a Vaishya, the Reddy elders of Avanti didn't like the alliance.
The news is that 13 persons were on Friday afternoon arrested by the police. Four of them are women: Spandana, Rajitha, Archana and Swapna. Each one is a relative of Avanti.
Avanti's maternal uncle Yugandhar Reddy and his son Rakesh Reddy are said to have played a key role in the murder.
The accused are alleged to have hired supari killers, who were paid Rs 10 lakh for strangulating Hemanth. Avanti's father Lakshman Reddy knew about the whole plan. His wife, too, is one of the accused.
