After Silambarasan now Makkal Selvan Vijay Sethupathi will be bestowed with an honorary doctorate by the American Embassy in Sri Lanka and the American National Business University. According to a press statement from a Kollywood publicist, Seenu Ramasamy, the director who debuted the actor as the lead in the 2010 movie Thenmerku Paruvakkatru, will also receive a doctorate.
A letter shared by the publicist, which is addressed to Seenu Ramasamy, informs, "We are delighted to inform you we have perused your accomplishments and contributions from your resume that has been submitted to us. Your endeavors are brilliants laudable. After carefully reviewing your application, or Academic Advisory Board is pleased to confer the title of "DOCTOR OF ARTS (Honoris Causa)" to you. Hence you are cordially invited to receive your Honorary Doctorate title in our Graduation ceremony which will be held on July 23, 2022 at The Residency Towers, Chennai, India."
Seenu Ramasamy and Vijay Sethupathi worked together in four films namely Thenmerku Paruvakkatru, Idam Porul Yeval (which is yet to be released), Dharmadurai, and Maamanithan. Maamanithan, hit the silver screens on June 24, earlier this year, the film is produced by Yuvan Shankar Raja under his YSR Productions banner. The film stars Vijay Sethupathi, Gayathrie, K. P. A. C. Lalitha, Guru Somasundaram and Shaji Chen.
