Muthuraj (30) of Chamrajnagar, in Karnataka was in love with Jyothi (25) for the past few years but the girl's parents were against their relationship as the boy belonged to a lower caste. However the couple eloped to Bengaluru and were leading a happy life and Jyothi became pregnant with their first child.

On November 14th the couple came to their native place Ellemala village and Muthuraj and his parents had gone out for shopping leaving Jyothi alone. Jyothi's parents Krishnayya and Venkatalakshmima along with her grandparents Govindayya and Thirumamma and uncle Kailash barged into the house and forcefully took her in a car to another place.

The entire family strangled the pregnant Jyothi and threw her body in a gutter and went away. The Karnataka police have registered an FIR on the five people and have started a hunt for them.
