Honey Rose is Soundarya now

  • IndiaGlitz, [Thursday,May 14 2009]

Actress Honey Rose, who lent her glamour to Kollywood through the film ‘Mudhal Kanave’, is all set for a name change. The actress, who hails originally from God’s Own Country, is all set to be rechristened as Soundarya for the film industry.

While the reason for the actress to change her name is unknown, it is learnt that the actress wished to make her name more identifiable, thus making it Soundarya. Name changes are not new to the industry, but this actress has chosen the name of one of our most popular heroines of the 1990s, actress Soundarya.

The originally Soundarya has acted with Kollywood’s leading heroes, from Rajini to Kamal Haasan, and was known as an actress who could mould herself to play any role. If she played a rural heroine in 'Padayappa', she exuded such urban dignity in Parthiban’s 'Ivan', a role she is still remembered for.

As Soundarya met an untimely end during the elections in 2004, Honey Rose has decided to call herself Soundarya. Here’s hoping Honey shares the yesteryear actresses’ luck in films. Honey Rose is working in 'Kandharvan' now.
