Oscar-winning ‘Friends’ actor gets a divorce 2 years after marriage

Hollywood star Sean Penn and actress Leila George, who got married in July 2020, have finalized their divorce. The 61-year-old Oscar winner and his 30-year-old wife filed for divorce in October last year.
The couple has cited irreconcilable differences as the reason behind their separation and neither party is seeking spousal support. Sean Penn, in a recent interview with Hollywood Authentic, opened up about his failed marriage. “There's a woman who I'm so in love with, Leila George, who I only see on a day-to-day basis now because I f****d up the marriage. We were married technically for one year, but for five years, I was a very neglectful guy,” he was quoted as saying.
Sean Penn, who has appeared in more than 50 films, has won several awards, including two Academy Awards for Best Actor for Mystic River (2003) and Milk (2008). The actor was married to Madonna for four years and then to actress Robin Wright, with whom he has two children, Dylan (30) and Hopper (28).
