'Hippi', starring Kartikeya, has been been a washout at the box-office. Directed by TN Krishna, the modern youthful romance has raked in a mere Rs 70 lakh in the Telugu States as of the end of Friday (two days).
It's not like the film had any tough competitor. Despite the lack of any major challenge, it has bombed at the BO. The audience's lack of interest in 'Hippi' literally swept it away like a disaster.
The script was not written with Kartikeya in mind. Producer Kalaipuli S Thanu made it with the actor, thinking that the 'RX 100' hero can turn it into money-minting cinema. All calculations have fallen on the rocks. The film is also a setback to the budding careers of Digangana Suryavanshi and Jazba Singh down South.
