While the entire world is getting ready to welcome the New year 2017, Tamil people across the globe have a concern that is still not addressed by the powers that be. They want an immediate lift of the Supreme Court ban on the traditional Jallikattu (Bull-taming) sport which is being considered as a symbol of Tamil pride and valour as the Pongal festival is fast nearing.

Almost all the political parties in Tamil Nadu and also celebrities from other walks of life reflect the people's mind while voicing their opinion about the ban on Jallikattu.

Tamil film industry celebrities have also started voicing their opinion publicly. Yesterday (December 30), actor Silambarasan sent a bold and detailed statement in favour of Jallikattu and called for the immediate lifting of ban on it. ALSO READ : Silambarsan's bold speech on banning Jallikattu

Young music director Hiphop Tamizha Aadhi has written, directed and acted in documentary to expose the international corporate conspiracy behind the calls to ban Jallikattu.

Music director and actor G.V.Prakash Kumar has also been vehemently voicing against the ban in his social media page.

Young heroine Nivetha Pethuraj has shared a poster that says 'We want Jallikattu.' It is to be noted that the 'Oru Naal Koothu' actor hails from Madurai, the district considered where Jallikattu will be held in a grand manner every year during the Pongal season.

It is heartening to see young achievers in Kollywood having the social concern and guts to raise their voice for issues affecting people and those that are political.
