This Friday, Grammy-award-winning artist Lizzo made the headlines after an emotional Instagram post hinted at quitting the music business amid a years-long lawsuit on charges of sexual harassment.
She expressed, "I am so tired of these false allegations every single time and character assassinations by total strangers. All I want is to make music and spread a good vibe, but I feel like the whole world is up against me."
The announcement came just days after criticism of her performance at a re-election fundraiser for President Biden. Her ex-backup dancers' attorneys went on to criticize her involvement as "shameful" in light of the existing allegations against her.
In August 2023, Lizzo faced a lawsuit from Arianna Davis, Crystal Williams, and Noelle Rodriguez, who accused the star, among other issues, of creating a hostile work environment and having sexual harassment. Among the other allegations, she fosters inappropriate behavior by her team, and one such example is that it happened in the Red Light District of Amsterdam.
He, however, denied all the allegations, and more came from the former employees, which included Lizzo's creative director and a documentary filmmaker.
Among the criticism, some staff of Ljson came to her defense, pointing out that there were actually no allegations of harassment. But despite a legal tussle running through the courts, Lizzo looked for all the world like the 2024 Grammys, beaming, as usual, with her much-vaunted infectious brand of positivity.
