'Jersey', which is now being remade in Hindi with Shahid Kapoor as the hero, recently wrapped up its shoot. Despite its shoot having been completed, it is not releasing anytime soon. The coming-of-age drama, directed by Tollywood director Gowtam Tinnanuri, will hit the screens for Diwali this year.
The makers of the film on Sunday said that 'Jersey' will release on November 5. "The triumph of the human spirit. A journey I am so very proud of. This one is for the TEAM (sic)," the 'Kabir Singh' actor wrote on Twitter.
Featuring also Mrunal Thakur and Pankaj Kapur, this one is going to be one of the major releases of the year. Presented by Allu Aravind, Aman Gill, Tollywood's ace producer Dil Raju and Suryadevara Naga Vamsi are bankrolling it.
The producers have retained Gowtam, who directed the Telugu original, for the remake. After completing the film's post-production works, the director is likely to take up a Telugu project.
