The Hindi remake of 'Jersey', wherein Shahid Kapoor fills the shoes of Nani, has completed its shoot. It was shot majorly in Chandigarh and Mohali. Director Gowtam Tinnanuri began the film's shoot in December last. Its production works were interrupted by the pandemic. It went on the floors a couple of months ago and, once it resumed its shoot, there was no looking back.
"It's a film wrap. 47 days of the shoot during COVID-19. Just unbelievable. I am so proud of the entire team. It’s nothing short of a miracle. I want to thank each and everyone from the unit for coming to set every day, putting themselves at risk and doing what we all love," the 'Kabir Singh' actor wrote on Twitter.
He added, "Telling stories that touch hearts and make a difference. 'Jersey' is a story that speaks of a Phoenix rising from the ashes. The triumph of an indomitable spirit. If there was ever a time I could connect with the underlying spirit of a film this was it."
Also starring Mrunal Thakur and Pankaj Kapur, the remake is presented by Allu Aravind. Aman Gill and Dil Raju are bankrolling it.
The film's release date is yet to be announced.
