Himmatwala
Blockbuster director Sajid Khan brings back the good, old and colourful eighties with the latest version of `Himmatwala', starring Superstar Ajay Devgn & Tamannaah. The film is touted as the biggest remake of the 80s Bollywood cult classic `Himmatwala' that featured Jumping Jack Jeetendra and ravishing Sridevi.
Sajid, however, in an interview clarified that "the film is a rewrite and not a remake". Stating that the scenes and characters of his film are completely different, the filmmaker stated, "The essence of the original Himmatwala is there in my version, but my treatment is completely different. The three most important aspects of the film, which are the opening act, the centre act and the finale, are completely different."
While the film has Mahesh Manjrekar, Paresh Rawal and Adhyayan Suman are in pivotal roles, Sonakshi Sinha has been roped for a special promotional number "Thank God It's Friday". Incidentally Jeetendra makes a cameo in the film.
Coming to the plot of the film, it is a story of a poor and wronged mother's son who comes to the village to avenge his father.
The new `Himmatwala' is presented by UTV Motion Pictures and Pooja Entertainment, the film is produced by Ronnie Screwvala and Vashu Bhagnani and is all set to hit the theatres on March 29th, 2013!!
