Himesh has got great power - Mahesh Bhatt

  • IndiaGlitz, [Thursday,March 20 2008]

Not many are aware of the rift between Himesh Reshammiya and the Bhatt camp favourite Emraan Hashmi. It was reported that Emraan Hashmi claimed that Himesh built his career by lending his voice to almost every film of his. Considering hits like ‘Aashiq Banaya’, ‘Jhalak Dhikhalaja’ , ‘Aksar yuh Mujhe’ , ‘Aap Ki Kashish’ etc one would agree with Hashmi. Hashmi futher refused to associate himself with any Himesh film.

Finally, it was time to prove Emraan wrong and then came Aap Ka Suroor which released on the very same day as Emraan’s most expensive film ever-Awaarapan.

What was the result? Everyone in the Industry knows that good music, direction by Mohit Suri and a banner like Vishesh films couldn’t save Awaarapan.

At a conference last evening to promote Vishesh Films Jannat , Mahesh Bhatt admitted that one of the biggest mistakes that he ever made was pitching the release of Awaarapan alongside Aap Ka Suroor. “Himesh has got that persona and has great power to draw the masses. He is at his peak and thus releasing Aawarapan alongside Aap Ka Suroor , was a big mistake” said Mr.Bhatt.

Now Mahesh Bhatt is confident about his next Emraan Hashmi starrer and this time around he states the success of the film would purely be based on word of mouth and thus whether the music is good or bad, publicity is intense or not; nothing would matter.

Here’s wishing the Bhatt camp all the very best as this time around they explore the cricket betting world and the Bob Whoolmer controversy.
