The week gone by has seen some most interesting developments. The past few days will be remembered for things like the Me Too movement taking root in India. In the entertainment industry, too, a couple of positive developments have taken place.
Kaushal wins Bigg Boss title
Kaushal Manda expectedly won the Bigg Boss title with ease. They are saying it was a record margin, trumping Geetha Madhuri like crazy. Starting out as a "zero" when he came to Hyderabad, Kaushal is now very famous by any reckoning. He announced the prize money for cancer treatment of the needy. The celeb has won congratulations from Mahesh Babu.
Tanushree row only gets more confusing
Tanushree Dutta's alleged harassers, Nana Patekar and Vivek Agnihotri, have slapped legal notices on her. Reacting to the notices, the Bollywood actress has alleged that these are nothing but attempts to silence her for speaking the truth. A video in which the activists of a political party are seen vandalizing Tanushree's car in 2008 created confusion. As it turned out, the men in the car attack belong to a media crew. In another development, an Assistant Director has said that Vivek never misbehaved with her.
Petrol prices go down at one stroke
The Centre decided to give relief to the common man. It slashed excise duty and the oil marketing companies too slashed Re. 1, giving a relief of Rs. 2.50 per litre. Twelve BJP-ruled states have brought down another Rs. 2.50 per litre, giving more relief.
Election dates announced
Telangana will go to polls on December 7, and counting will take place on the 11th of that month. Rajasthan shares the same date. In Madhya Pradesh, it's going to be a single-phase poll on November 28. On the same date, Mizoram, too, will go to polls. It's a two-phase election in Chhattisgarh on different dates in November. "Counting of votes to be done on December 11 for Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Mizoram, Rajasthan and Telangana state assembly elections," EC has said.
Beloved Young Tiger breaks down on stage
It was a painful sight for his fans to see Tarak emotionally breaking down at the pre-release event of 'Aravindha Sametha'. He delivered a highly emotional speech, remembering his late father, Harikrishna. As Trivikram Srinivas comforted the star, their bonding was on display. Nandamuri fans are now waiting for the Oct 11th release to smash records.
NTR gets two parts
The 'NTR' biopic is now a franchise. It will be released in two parts - 'Kathanayakudu' and 'Mahanayakudu'. This decision to release the film in two parts is big and the temerity of the makers to release them within a space of two weeks is stunning. Nandamuri Balakrishna surely has guts!
Prabhas reaches Italy with team
Prabhas is finally in Europe to start shooting for his romantic drama with director KK Radhakrishna. Ahead of the shoot, a pic in which he is clean-shaven has been released by an informal source. Needless to say, the 'Saaho' star is charming in it.
'NOTA' releases amid controversies
The release of 'NOTA' was preceded by a stupid controversy. A former censor board member claimed that the movie brainwashes people to choose NOTA option on EVMs ahead of the upcoming elections in Telangana. As for him, Vijay Deverakonda rubbished the controversy, saying the film doesn't support any party. Released this Friday, the political thriller collected more than Rs. 7 Cr (share) on Day 1.
