Superstar Rajinikanth was on Monday speaking to students at the Dr. MGR Educational and Research Institute in Chennai after unveiling a statue of former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MG Ramachandran. This is when he got political.
Hailing MGR's rule and initiatives, he said that he was never afraid of Jayalalithaa, against whom he had issued a statement before the 1996 Assembly polls in Tamil Nadu.
The 'Kaala' star opined that there is a vacuum in TN politics now that Jaya is gone and Karunanidhi is not active. "I have learned some politics moving with Karunanidhi, Moopanar and Cho Ramaswamy," he added.
Rajini added that he is in politics because the politicians are not working properly. This has been described to be his first political speech.
