A Court in Nilgiris of Tamil Nadu had issued non bailable warrant against film stars Suriya, Sathyaraj, Sarathkumar, Arun Vijay, Vivekh, Vijayakumar, Cheran and Sripriya for not appearing before the court for a 2009 case against them for alleged derogatory statements against press persons. The actors sought the intervention of the Madras High Court and on May 25th, the High Court passed an interim order staying the non-bailable warrant issued against the stars.

Now in a move that gives a bigger relief to the film stars concerned, the Madras High Court has issued an interim stay against the trail of the case in the Nilgiris Court. This would mean that the lower Court cannot initiate anymore trial in the case until the High Court's next order .

The High Court will hear the case after 15 days.
