On Feb 18, the trust vote caused a ruckus in the assembly after Speaker Dhanapal denied a secret ballot that the DMK and Panneerselvam camp insisted. Working President of DMK, M K Stalin had later filed a petition in the Madras HC challenging the credibility of the floor test where CM Edapadi Palanisami proved majority.

The case came to hearing today. The Court has issued notice to the Speaker and the Assembly Secretary to file a counter affidavit by the 10th of March. Copy of the notices have also been issued to the Chief Minister & Chief Secretary of the State.
