In 2015, an FIR was lodged against BS Yediyurappa in connection with a land denotification case. Two years later, the BJP leader approached the high court of Karnataka seeking the dismissal of the FIR.
The news is that the HC has dismissed his petition. The chief minister has been asked to pay a fine of Rs 25,000. As per reports, the illegal denotification case pertains to 1.11 acres of land in Bengaluru.
As per a case filed by a social activist, the land originally belonged to Thimmareddy, Nagappa and Muniswamappa. The petition alleged that the land was transferred to a relative of HD Kumaraswamy. The initial transfers and notifications pertain to the period from 2007 to 2010.
It's now speculated that BSY will likely move the Supreme Court.
