Recently, a person named Alluri Sowmya filed a Public Interest Litigation at the Telangana the High Court, saying that she has apprehensions that 'Roudram Ranam Rudhiram' distorts histories involving Alluri and Komaram Bheem. The PIL has been junked by the HC, which considered the argument by the filmmakers' counsel that 'RRR' is a work of fiction.

Another petition was filed in January by Alluri Sowmya. For one, the petitioner said that she is against the alleged romanticization of Alluri's relationship with his soulmate. "How can a great patriot be shown to work for the colonialists in exchange for a few bucks?" the petition argued.
