The Income Tax department had sent a notice to a private Bank to hold an amount of Rupees 96 Lakhs 41 thousand from actor Arvind Swamy's account as advance tax for the year 2018-19 and had also directed him to pay the amount immediately. The 'Thani Oruvan' star immediately sought intervention from the Madras High Court stating that the attempt to transfer the money was "unjust enrichment' and was arbitrary as he had already paid the necessary amount as advance tax and requested the IT department notice to be quashed.
The Madras High Court ordered the IT department not to proceed against Arvind Swamy in the matter untill the issues are resolved. The comeback hero who is also a high level businessman is awaiting the release of his 'Bhaskar Oru Rascal' , 'Naragasooran' and 'Sathuranga Vettai 2' apart from shooting for Mani Ratnam's multistarrer, 'Chekka Chivantha Vaanam'.
