Amid rising demands by heroines that they should be paid equally as their male counterparts, Tamil star actor Karthi said that it's market, but not gender, which determines remuneration. He added that except in fields like IT, gender pay gap is a common phenomenon.
"The gender pay gap is everywhere, except in fields like IT. In film industry, you are paid as per your market value", Karthi is quoted as saying.
Karthi's next film, 'Kaashmora', is gearing up for a Diwali release. The songs and trailer will be out on 7th October on the eve of Dussehra. Nayanthara and Sri Divya paired opposite him in this movie, which is being produced in Telugu by PVP Cinema and Dream Warrior Pictures banners.
