Ding dong baby sing a song. Aaj ki sham ka pyaar ke naam ka la la la la la laa.. a phone bell rings..Subhash Ghai picks up the phone.. an intense voice in his trademark poker tone on the other side says, "Swagat nahi karoge naye ‘Hero’ ka aap"..

This is the conversation Subhash Ghai had with Salman Khan after watching ‘Hero. Read on to experience the startling revelation in the end.

Subhash Ghai: Swagat.. what for.. such a rulaiye (beating, thrashing) of my favourite pop corn masala love Rubaiye ( sort of a poem) in this remake.. so much it at stake.. why so careless bhai.. why so careless..

Salman replies, "Sir.. what are you saying.. am shocked..

Subhash Ghai : Exactly. Am also going through the same sentiments.

Salman: Please let me complete.

Subhash Ghai: Ok have your way.. you are a super star.. who can say ‘no’ to you.

Salman: People keep on saying ‘no’ to me.. you know it.. lets come to the point.

Subhash Ghai : Ok. bolo. (speak).

Salman: Sir, you didn,t see the intent and started blaming me for the content.

Subhash Ghai: What intent content you are talking about. You ruined my classic yaar. I believed in you Salman. You are my ‘Hero’..

Salman Khan: Thanks sir, I really appreciate it. Let me explain. Sir, I had a noble intent of introducing two new comers to the industry and pay homage to bollywood. What better than your iconic ‘Hero’ to introduce a ‘Hero’. I felt Sooraj and Athiya had that spark. Am glad they have got a better launch. Instead of patting n my back you are scolding me..

Subhash Ghai: Am not scolding you beta, I never trespass into somebody’s else rights. Scolding rest on your father Salim’s shoulder... I don,t know what he will say after watching this remake.

Salman Khan: Am clear on my intent and have tried my best. sir, I even edited some portions and cut the movie short by around 30 minutes... you see. Still you are crying.

Subhash Ghai : Not because it was a remake of my film. Any lover of my ‘Hero’ and pop corn potboiler  will be disappointed and feel like crying after seeing this. If this is what after your editing.. what was going on in the minds of Nikhil Advani and co.

Salman Khan: Now you are spot on. Nikhil is the culprit. Give him the saaza. (punish him).

Subhash Ghai: No Nikhil is just a kid. He just didn,t fit in the bill. I don,t have to say more to him. Things with you are different. We share a lot in common.

Salman Khan: What’s common between you and me sir.

Subhash Ghai: Showmanship. I came to become an actor, turned producer, director, writer, had keen interest in music, even sang a couple of lines in my films.. gave special appearance, introduced new talents. Your showmanship is the same only the order has changed. You are an actor, turned painter, producer, singer, editor and mentor.

Salman Khan: Arre ha.. mein bhi showman.. thank you sir, love you sir.

Subhash Ghai: Anytime beta anytime. In future take care.

Salman Khan: Sir, I agree those who are fan of yours and your ‘Hero’ will be disappointed.. as a producer and director will you highlight some positives from this remake.

Subhash Ghai: The intentions to introduce Sooraj and Athiya to the industry properly has being achieved. Sooraj has that ‘raw’ innocence in him. A replica of you who needs proper guidance to get that charisma required for a star. Athiya is attractive and can deliver if given better stronger roles.

Salman Khan: Or kuch, anything else sir.

Subhash Ghai : Remake ke bare mein itna hi aage kuch bhi kahoonga toh dard hoga neendh nahi aayegi. (enough for the remake, saying more will give me pain and sleepless nights) one personal advice.

Salman: Sure. Bring it on.

Subhash Ghai: You have proved your credentials as a showman with ‘Hero’. Why don,t you don the director’s Hat.. am having second thoughts regarding the helmer of Ram Lakhan remake.

Salman: Kya baat hai sir. What are you saying? me as a director. But Ram Lakhan remake is already happening.. Rohit Shetty is doing it.

Subash Ghai: I will speak to Karan. Rohit Shetty is a super ‘hit’ director but not a showman. You are a showman. You are man with golden heart. You will put your heart as director. You are a painter as well. give it a shot Salman. Its an offer you cannot refuse. Direct the remake of my Ram Lakhan. A title has just flashed in my mind - Hero kaun Ram ya Lakhan. What say.. this title will fill the woes of the remade ‘Hero’ as well.

Salman: Kyu nahi.. jaroor.

Subash Ghai : Salman you introduced a ‘Hero’ in my remake of ‘Hero’. Now I will introduce a filmmaker in a ‘Hero’ like you.. and make you a bigger better showman. Bigger than me.
