Nikhil Advani's 'Hero', based on Subhash Ghai's blockbuster film of the same, is going through rough phase to impress the audience. The launchpad of Sooraj Pancholi and Athiya Shetty has opened to Rs 6.85 crore collections on Friday, after being slammed by critics.

After a well planned and organised media campaign, and launched by Salman Khan in Bollywood, Sooraj and Athiya are finally here, in a story that's still stuck in the '90s. The original movie featured Jackie Shroff and Meenakshi Sheshadri in the lead roles and its music by Laxmikant-Pyarelal was a great hit. The film's latest version presents Sooraj Pancholi as a gangster who kidnaps a police officer's daughter Athiya Shetty and then falls in love with her. Aditya Pancholi and Tigmanshu Dhulia feature in prominent roles in the film. So far so good for both the newcomers, wish them more luck for the weekend.
