Here’s what’s happening with Vikram Vedha Telugu remake

Buzz about Vikram Vedha Telugu remake with a number of A-listers has done the rounds multiple times in the past, with the recent being Ravi Teja attached to star, while Sudheer Varma will wield the megaphone. While it’s true about Ravi and Sudheer contemplating remaking it, the fact remains the action-thriller, a modern take on the Vikram Betaal mythology, will not move to floors, at least immediately! When the actor-director duo thought of collaborating for it sometime back, the casting posed a hurdle. While the mass maharaja is keen on playing the role of gangster Vedha (essayed by Vijay Sethupathi), an idea that was endorsed by both Sudheer as well as the production house Y Not Studios, the problem surfaced when no other A-lister was willing to play Vikram, the righteous cop.

The director has approached big names from the industry but everybody had their eyes on Vedha. While both the roles have equal importance in the narrative, it’s that Vedha’s part walked away with all the laurels when the film released in Tamil Nadu a couple of years ago. As the casting couldn’t fall in place despite the makers exhaustive efforts, the film hit a roadblock here last year. Right now, Y Not Studios is remaking the same film in Hindi with Aamir Khan and Saif Ali Khan, so the question of Telugu remake might not crop up until the middle of 2020.
