Here is why Sukumar chose Fahadh Faasil for Allu Arjun's 'Pushpa'

Mollywood actor Fahadh Faasil has been in the news ever since Mythri Movie Makers on Sunday revealed that he would be playing Allu Arjun's antagonist in 'Pushpa'. While most Telugu audiences may not be aware of who Faasil is, those exposed to Malayalam cinema would know that he is one of the best actors in the country. Making the announcement, the makers of the Bunny-starrer described Faasil as a powerhouse performer.

It's learned that the 'Trance' actor was chosen for the role because he brings intensity to performances. In 'Trance', Faasil played a grey character with so much ease. There was an aura of menace that he brought to the character. In 'Pushpa', too, his is going to be an intense role.

Since 'Pushpa' is a multi-lingual film, it is fitting that an actor from a non-Telugu film industry has been chosen for the antagonist's role. Moreover, he is not a stock villain, given that he is a sought-after hero in Mollywood. His face is not given to cardboard characters.

Director Sukumar is going to can scenes involving him in the coming months, several months after 'Pushpa' went on the floors last year. The film has music by Devi Sri Prasad.
