Looks like it is the season of filmmakers from USA making their mark in Kollywood, After Arun Vaidyanthan (of Achchamundu Achchamundu), comes G Arun who has completed a course on film direction in the USA.

The young filmmaker is churning out ‘Ethirmarai’ meaning contradiction in English. Speaking about the film, he says, It is a psychological thriller based on a link between a CBI officer’s private life and a serial murder case he is handling.

The backdrop of the story is Chennai and is shot in various locations in and around the city. Many scenes are taken on expensive sets designed by art director Rajeevan, says the director.

The venture is produced by Escope International, a new cinema venture, started by Arun. Known for innovations in the previous business, he wanted Escope to stand out from other production companies in terms of technology.
