As is known, the sale of liquor is permitted across Telangana from Wednesday (May 6). Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has hiked the prices by 16% on the existing rates. On cheap liquor brands, the rate of increase stands at 11%.
"Liquor shops can be reopened in Red Zones as much as in Green and Orange Zones. They can't be opened in containment clusters within Red Zones," KCR had said on Tuesday.
Bars and pubs have been barred from being run.
Liquor shops can be opened from 10 AM and have to be closed at 6 PM.
With the CM strictly saying that those shops that don't ensure social distancing will be sealed, many wine shops in Hyderabad have been found to be ensuring that on Wednesday. As per ground reports, policemen have been deployed at many shops to ensure that consumers don't mingle freely.
