Unbelievable, shocking but might be true and beautiful for a bi-sexual, gay and lesbian. Indian cinema has found it difficult to explore gay lesbian relations and its always considered taboo and come under fire.. before the cry over Nanadita das, Shabana Azmi`s scene in Fire that seemed to have started it all, Kamal Amrohi`s period Razia Sultan released in 1983 arguably seems to be the pioneer in showing first lesbian overtone scene on screen.

The 1983 release that depicted the life of Razia Sultan (1205-1240), the only female Sultan of Delhi (1236-1240) and her speculated love affair with the Abyssinian slave, Jamal-ud-Din Yakut played by Dharmendra.
