Schools closed due to heavy rains

Tamil Nadu in the recent few days have been receiving heavy  rainfall owing to the north east monsoon. Chennai has been receiving heavy lashes of rain starting last night including other regions such as Thiruvarur, Tanjavore and Trichy.

Keeping this is mind, the respective district collectors of Thiruvarur, Tanjavore, Trichy, Tuticorin, Tirunelveli, Kanyakymari and Virudhunagar have announced holiday for schools. In addition to this a flood alert has been announced to Krishnagiri, Thiruvannamalai, Vizhupuram and Kadalur districts.

The Met department have stated that Chennai including parts of Tamil Nadu will receive heavy rainfall in the next 36 hours.
