A day after Kerala reported the shocking news of a 19-year-old COVID-19 patient being sexually abused by an ambulance driver, another news of an equally gruesome crime has been reported in the state.
A health inspector molested a woman, who approached him seeking a COVID negative certificate after her quarantine period ended. The accused, identified as Pradeep, asked the woman to visit his residence to collect the COVID-19 negative certificate and molested her there.
The complainant, who was working as a home nurse in Malappuram, was under quarantine at her home. After completing the quarantine period, she approached the health inspector for obtaining a COVID negative certificate to get back to her work. According to the statement of the victim, Pradeep abused her inside the flat on September 3. However, Pradeep admitted to have called the women to his house to collect the certificate but had denied the abuse charges.
