A few days back, we had lamented over the lack of experimentation in Telugu films.

We had also said there were no major actors who were ready to take an off-beat line. Films like Sivaputrudu, we had said, were unlikely in Telugu.

For once, we may be wrong.

The reason? Sivaputrudu himself, er Vikram himself, has been saying that he is more keen than ever before to do Telugu films.

The actor, in the aftermath of his national award winning effort, has repeatedly stressed that he will do at least one Telugu film every year.

He has already spoken to the likes of Krishna Vamsi and V V Vinayak.

Vikram is currently doing Shankar's Anniyan that is also simultaneously being made in Telugu.

But Vikram says he is looking for specific Telugu projects. The thing about Vikarm is that he is one actor who is comfortable doing what Tollywood would call as both class and mass films.

His Samy (Lakshmi Narasimha in Telugu) is a good example of a mass movie. While Sethu (Seshu in Telugu) is an instance of the other.

Vikarm's films, interestingly, have failed in Telugu when remade with other heroes (Sethu, Samy, Dhool, Dil and Kasi).

So Vikarm may have been forced to take a decision that he is better off acting himself.

A good decison and the Telugu fans wouldn't complain.
