Nannaku Prematho, one of the most hyped movies of NTR in recent times, took 36 hours to touch the one million views mark. On the other hand, Janatha Garage has clocked this mark in just 6 hours, thereby becoming the most viewed teaser of an NTR film in the shortest time. Even in terms of the number of likes, JG has pipped NP by a huge margin in a record time. In no time, #FastestMillionTeaserJG was created by NTR's proud fans to celebrate this all-time record.

Just what must be the reason for this huge leap? Even after accounting for the factors like the massy flavour of the film, NTR's intense look (unlike in the pre-release posters of NP) as introduced by the first look weeks ago and Koratala Shiva's own popularity, the teaser's record is still astonishing by any imagination. While NTR's super-stardom is clearly a major reason for the record, why was it not on display to this unprecedented extent when NP's teaser was out in November last? Even Janatha Garage's genre may not explain the record fully.

An unsung reason could be the Malayalam Superstar Mohanlal's presence. Ever since the Malayalam version's teaser was released yesterday, it has been on a roll. It's highly probable that the Telugu version's teaser is a beneficiary of Mohanlal's popularity in Kerala. It's because those who check out for the Malayalam teaser would also view the Telugu one because the latter would appear as a suggested video on YouTube.

The fact that NTR is a familiar face in Kerala seems to have been an added advantage.

This is not to say that the record was possible only because of Mohanlal. But what is clear from the trends is that the combination of NTR and Mohanlal is working wonders. When to such crazy actors act in a film, the craze would naturally be humongous.
