Acclaimed filmmaker Mani Ratnam this afternoon was admitted to a private hospital in Chennai's Thousand Lights locality. Several media reports said that the iconic filmmaker had suffered a heart-attack.
Turns out that it was a routine check-up, as per the director's official spokesperson. "Mani Ratnam sir went to the hospital for a routine medical check-up. He is absolutely fine now," the statement says.
The 'Roja' and 'Bombay' director was recently done shooting 'Chekka Chivantha Vaanam' ('Nawab' in Telugu), which is currently in post-production phase. The film stars Vijay Sethupathi, Simbu, Arvind Swamy, Arun Vijay, and Aditi Rao Hydari.
