It has been disaster for a few of the artists who contested the 15th Karnataka Assembly elections on Tuesday -15th May 2018. The state assembly election was held on 12th of May.

HD Kumaraswamy is also staking claim for chief minister with Congress I in a coalition government. 38 seats of JDS clubbing with 78 seat of Congress I in forming the government. The single largest party BJP with 104 seats is also seeking permission to form the government.
Actor and producer Kumar Bangarappa former minister of Congress I, now in BJP defeated his younger brother Madhu Bangarappa in Soraba constituency and showed his strength, BC Patil, permanent Kaurava of Kannada cinema, director and producer wins from Hirekerur Assembly constituency on Congress I ticket. He defeated Ujaneshwar Banakar of BJP in a tough fight.
As a minister of Kannada and culture in Congress I government Umasri renowned actress lost from Teredal, Navarasanayaka Jaggesh from Yeshwanthpur, Shashikumar from Chitradurga, Madhu Bangarappa from Soraba, Ashok Kheney from Bidar South, Saikumar from Bagepalli, CP Yogishwar from Channapatna faced utter defeat.
From Jayanagar and Raja Rajeshwari Nagar the elections due has cinema related personalities contesting. The date of for Raja Rajeshwari Nagar has been announced as May 28. The election for Jayanagar constituency is not yet announced in the death of candidate Vijayakumar.
