The Madras High Court has set up an expert committee to watch Karthi-starrer 'Komban' and to file a report on whether the release of the film would affect the law and order situation in southern districts.
When a petition filed by Puthiya Thamizhagam leader Dr Krishnasamy came up for hearing, the Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court appointed the 10-member committee, consisting of two retired judges and four members each from the petitioner's side as well as the producer's side.
In his petition, Krishnasamy claimed that the movie set in Ramanathapuram district with protagonist and antagonist belonging to different castes has communally sensitive dialogues and may flare up violence between castes.
Former advocate general R Viduthalai, who appeared for the producers of 'Komban', requested the court to pass orders after viewing the movie.
