Lyca Productions has issued an official statement, finally, saying that the release of '2.0' will happen only in April.

However, they haven't revealed the release date. It has been said that April 13th could be the one. But the makers are non-committal about it. It seems this is going to put Tollywood in a fix until Shankar's producers come up with a precise date.

As things stand, the third half of April is crucial for Telugu cinema. Unless some compromise is struck, 'Bharat Ane Nenu' and 'Na Peru Surya' will release on the same date (April 27).

The Nagarjuna-RGV film is also slated to be released in April.

If everything goes well, Krish-directed 'Manikarnika' will release on April 27.

Mohankrishna Indraganti's film with the Sudheer Babu-Aditi Rao Hydari and a couple of other medium-range films will want to target the summer market.

Given this, they would have expected the makers of '2.0' to put out the date early on. Rajinikanth, after all, is too big to compete with!
