In 'Hatya' ('Kolai' in Tamil), Vijay Antony plays an investigator who has to identify and trace the murderer of a celebrity model named Leila (Meenakshi Chaudhary). Murli Sharma, known for soft roles in movies like 'Sita Ramam', is seen promising Leila a bright future as a model in a wicked manner. While the needle of suspicion may point at him, there is most likely more to the murder mystery than meets the eye.

Written and directed by Balaji K Kumar and produced by Infiniti Film Ventures and Lotus Pictures, the film co-stars Ritika Singh, Radikaa Sarathkumar, Siddhartha Shankar, Kishore Kumar, John Vijay, Arjun Chidambaram and Samkit Bohra.

Bashashree has penned the Telugu version's lyrics as well as dialogues. Releasing the trailer of the film, Natural Star Nani wished the team well. Vijay Antony is going to promote the Telugu version widely.

Sivakumar Vijayan's cinematography in the trailer looks moody and apt. The film is driven by Girishh Gopalakrishnan's generic BGM, it seems. Selva RK (editor), K Aarusamy (art director), Ramesh Acharya (VFX supervisor), Vijay Rathinam (sound designer), Shimona Stalin (costume designer), and Mahesh Mathew (stunt director) have worked on the film.
