The nation is under shock after the death of a 20-year-old woman, who died on Tuesday in Delhi two weeks after she was gang-raped and tortured in Uttar Pradesh's Hathras. The woman was cremated by policemen who locked her family and relatives were locked up in their homes.

As netizens and celebrities have voiced out their opinion against the UP government, now director Pa Ranjith has tweeted strong statements on the incident. He tweeted "#HathrasHorror is #Shame for the whole nation! #Casteism #ManishaValmiki, a #DalitGirl is brutally raped & killed by #Thakur caste men. It would have been different for the majority of people if the victim is from the Savarna, which would have caused nationwide protests. All women are equal, but not for the majority. Just think usually how the govt & majority people behave post-rape depends on whether the victim is from Savarna or Dalit_Tribal, it's treated totally different in this land.Wake up & see what the brutal sick minds are causing."
