Ever since Varalakshmi Sarathkumar on Wednesday met with the National General Secretary of the BJP P Muralidhar Rao, there have been speculations that the daughter of the Kollywood star Sarathkumar is either inclined to join the BJP or has already joined it. But the truth is that she has no plans to join the saffron party.

She met the BJP office-bearer only as part of the ongoing 'Sampark for Samarthan' campaign, as part of which she was yesterday briefed by the BJPian about the achievements of 4 years of Narendra Modi's govt.

This sparked off rumours that Varu has joined the BJP but the talented actress has clarified, "Had a wonderful meeting regarding the changes that BJP can do to better our nation with P. Muralidhar Rao regarding women's safety n other issues..good to know Narendra Modi ji wants our feedback..contrary to all the baseless rumours,I have not joined BJP or anyother political party"

On the work front Varalakshmi Sarathkumar is playing pivotal roles in 'Thalapathy 62', 'Mr. Chandramouli', 'Kadhal Mannan', 'Shakthi' and 'Neeya2', all of which are Tamil movies.
