A day ahead of the release of 'Valmiki', director Harish Shankar has made an appeal to the fans of 'Jigarthanda' (Tamil), whose remake his film is.
"To all the 'Jigarthanda' fans out there, just like you all, I too am a fan of the film. But I think I have earned the right to describe myself as the biggest fan, because I went a step ahead and bought its remake rights so that I can show it to a new audience. Even though we are all united by cinema, we are divided by barriers of language and cultural differences that give our cinema unique identities," the director said.
He added, "With that in mind, I have made a few changes to suit our nativity and, importantly, the image of my hero Varun Tej. You may love the changes or hate them. But to do either of those, you would have to first watch the film. And so, I request you all to watch our film and bless us."
Starring Varun Tej, the film will hit the screens this Friday.
