Star director Harish Shankar has reached out to the Surabhi Theatre group, which has taken a hit because of the pandemic-induced lockdown. The filmmaker came to know about the threat to the livelihoods of theatre artists at the drama group through a group of YouTube artists/technicians. Harish Shankar promised to step in for them and did his bit within 24 hours.
"Thank you, Harish Shankar garu, for stepping in as soon as you heard the news! He sent 81 bags with all the necessary essentials needed for the Surabhi Theatre families," the facilitators of the charity act said today.
Reacting to the appreciation, the 'Gaddalakonda Ganesh' director wrote, "Thank you for bringing it to my notice. It was embarrassing to know about their plight. Mana kalaakaarulaki manam chesukodam baadhyata avuthundi... it's not a favour.. we all are one family. They are hard-pressed even in normal times. The less said about the situation now, the better."
The director is scheduled to do a film with Pawan Kalyan in 2021.
