Ace Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh has lodged a complaint at the Neelangarai police station against a man named Magesh for cheating him of a loan amount of rupees four crores. The issue came to light when Magesh approached the High Court for anticipatory bail stating that he had already paid back rupees four crores and five lakhs to Singh and the process of negotiation for reducing the interest rate has been hampered due to the coronavirus lockdown.
According to the petition, Magesh hailing from Utthandi got a loan of rupees four crores from Harbhajan Singh pledging an immovable property in 2015. He had also submitted eight blank cheques to the cricketer who had filled in rupees twenty-five lakhs and presented to the bank which was returned due to payment stoppage.
At the hearing the police informed the court that they had no intention of arresting Magesh but only wanted him for questioning and the court asked him to cooperate with the authorities and if necessary apply for bail again.
Harbhajan Singh was expected to take part in the IPL 2020 playing for the Chennai Super Kings team but he opted out citing personal reasons. His debut movie in Tamil 'Dikkiloona' starring Santhanam is awaiting release while he is also shot fifty percent of his movie as hero titled 'Friendship' costarring Losliya and directed by John Paul Raj.
