Former cricketer Harbhajan Singh has duly tendered an apology to India a day after he seemed to have taken a pro-Bhindranwale stance. Bhindranwale was a Khalistani terrorist who wanted to divide India in the early 1980s. In an Instagram post, Singh happened to suggest that he believes Bhindranwale was a martyr. This didn't go down well with many. Thousands of his fans questioned and shamed him.

Following the controversy, Singh on Monday evening said sorry. Singh claimed that he had made the Instagram post without realizing the nature of the content, which he said he had received on WhatsApp. It was a poster.
Accepting the mistake, Singh added that he doesn't subscribe to the views espoused by the controversial social media post in any way. "I am a Sikhi and I will always fight for India and not against India. This is my unconditional apology for hurting the sentiments of my nation. In fact, any anti-national group against my people, I don't support and never will. I have given my blood and sweat for this country for 20 years and will never support anything that is anti-India," Singh added.
All is well that ends well.
