Director Omar Lulu's debut film Happy Wedding was last year's surprise hit, breaking box office records with relative newcomers in the lead roles. Now the director is all geared up with yet another youth-centric comedy entertainer, Chunkzz.

Coming from the hit-making director, the upcoming venture has already created quite a hype among the audiences. Much to the delight of the fans, the Chunkzz team has now officially announced the release date of the movie. Director Omar Lulu has confirmed to us that the upcoming comedy entertainer will hit the big screens on May 12th this year.

Featuring Balu Varghese, Dharmajan Bolgatty, Anandam fame Vishak Nair and Ganapathy in the lead roles, the movie revolves around a series of funny incidents that happen after a girl joins the mechanical engineering department in a college. Honey Rose essays the role of the only female student in the batch and she's called the 'Mech Rani'. Marina Michael who was noted for her cameo performance in Happy Wedding is also playing an important character in Chunkzz. Going by the director's words, the story of Chunkzz evolves as the students set out for a Goa trip.

Scripted by three newbies, Snoop Thykoodam, Joseph Vijesh and Aneesh Hameed, the movie has music by Gopi Sunder. Honey Bee fame Alby handles camera department along with the cuts of Dilip Dennies. Pulimurugan`s art director Joseph Nellickal is also part of the team. Produced by Vaishak Rajan under his banner Vaishaka Movies, the movie is currently in the post-production stage.
