Vishnu Vardhan, the director with a trademark creative style of his own, should be watched out for Panjaa. In fact, rarely has a director who is debuting for the first time in Telugu has acquired so much fame than Vishnu Vardhan. It owes as much to the hero with whom he is working as to his own inspiring oeuvre in Tamil. The Kollywoodian, with four films in his kitty, out of which three were hits (except his debut), is known for dealing with intriguing subjects.

As a story-teller, he scores high because of his knack for dealing with the twists and turns in his films. This was amply evidenced by Aarinthum Ariyamalum and Pattiyal. Billa, his last film, proved that he can also make films cut out for superstars like Ajith.

He was described as a Steven Spielberg in his own right at the audio release function of Panjaa, by Daggubati Rana. It may be an exaggeration, but it should be said that VV does come across as a very promising gentleman. That he could sweep Pawan off his feet with a story that interweaves mafia saga with a pleasing romantic track, is a good commentary on his talent.

The director looks serious, but he is fun to work with, as Brahmanandam said. Ever on the vigil and always hyper-active, the director is known for his passion for work. On the sets, he makes everybody comfortable.

With the release of Panjaa in Tamil as Kuri, the director has the distinction of introducing Pawan to Tamil audience.
