An actor with a difference, Siddharth with his striking good looks and innate style became a popular actor. With in a short span of time, he carved a niche as a lover boy with boy next-door appeal. Siddharth celebrates his birthday today 17th of April.

Aiming to direct films, he stepped into cinema industry as an associate with noted director Mani Ratnam, for ‘Kannathil Muthamittal’, Before debuting as hero with ‘Boys’ (2003) in Tamil.

The Telugu version of ‘Boys’, starring opposite Genelia, opened venues for him in Telugu cinema. His first stint in ‘Nuvvosthanante Nenoddantana’ in the direction of Prabhudeva, won him his first Filmfare award (2005) as the Best actor. He also won the 13th annual Star Screen Award as the Most Promising Newcomer for ‘Rang De Basanti’ which marked his debut to Hindi.

Sinddharth ventured into screenplay writing as well as playback singing with ‘Chukkallo Chandrudu’. A critically acclaimed box-office hit ‘Bommarillu’, established him as an impressive actor. Although his next ‘Aata’ did not fare will at box-office, the following ‘Konchem Ishtam Konchem Kashtam’ has put him back on track. It is moving towards a 100 day mark in over 70 centers.

His latest ‘Oye,’ starring opposite Shamili (‘Anjali fame) in the direction of debutant Anand Ranga and his second Bollywood film ‘Striker’ are in the making. Four more films, in the direction of Prabhudeva, Rambabu (new comer), Ram (a Tamil director) and Jayendra are in the line to commence. While Prabhudeva directed his first straight film in Telugu, Jayendra is an ad filmmaker and mentor to Siddharth.

Within a short span Siddharth achieved noteworthy feats. Choosing scripts that eliminated violence and heavy action sequences, he acquired an amazing fan following by youth and family audiences.
