One of the biggest actors in Telugu cinema who started his career as a villain, Dr Mohanbabu has done every kind of role in the last 36 years. Socio drama, mythology, political and comedy entertainers, action and family dramas he is tailor made for every genre of cinema.

Mohanbabu who was a physical education teacher as Bhaktavatsalam Naidu in Tirupati, turned an actor thanks to his guru Dr Dasari Narayana Rao. From Kannavari Kalalu, Dongalaku Donga, Shivaranjani to Jhummandi Naadham last year, Mohanbabu has been working relentlessly.

He started the culture of comedy villainism and romantic comedy hero roles in Tollywood. Alludugaru, Assembly Rowdy, Bramha,Major Chandrakanth Peddharayudu et al are biggest hits in his career. Peddharayudu collected over Rs 35 crore when it released and remained highest grosser then. He therefore was titled 'Collection King' and 'Dialogue King'.

His style of delivering dialogue is cult. His mannerisms, voice modulation and dance are iconic trademarks. He has carved a niche for himself in Telugu cinema.He started educational institutions in his home district Tirupati which his son Vishnu Manchu is managing. His daughter Lakshmi and younger son Manchu Manoj are actors too.

As he celebrates his birthday today on March 19th admist his students in Chitoor, Indiaglitz wishes him a very happy birthday, long life and many more reference worthy movies from him in the years to come.
