There is nothing happy about a birthday, says Satya's character in the teaser of 'Happy Birthday'. It's a case of a birthday bash turning into a rainfall of bullets after an all-pervasive gun culture overtakes the country in this surreal action-comedy.

Vennela Kishore plays a misguided Union Minister who legalizes liberal gun ownership. His policy is even more dystopian than what is prevalent in the US. Lavanya Tripathi, who owns a heavy weapon, hosts a birthday party and unleashes mayhem.

Directed by Ritesh Rana of 'Mathu Vadalara' fame, the film is set in a world of its own. Most of the characters are eccentric, with the story revolving mainly around four of them (the female protagonist, a Minister, a hippie youngster, and a clueless guy who is doing a low-end job).

Set to hit the screens on July 15, this one is produced by Clap Entertainment and Mythri Movie Makers. Coming with the caption ‘No Gun No Entry’, the film also features Naresh Agastya and Gundu Sudarshan. Kaala Bhairava's music is expected to be irreverent. Suresh Sarangam has used the blue and red theme well. Shankar Uyyala's fights are an important element.
