Happy Birthday, Sunil

From the time he was catapulted to fame with Nuvve Kavali, Sunil did not need to look back. As a nitwit who confuses telephone directory with accounts textbook in Nuvvu Nenu, and as someone pulling the legs of a senior actor like Chandra Mohan and matching the hero in an emotional scene in the climax in Manasantha Nuvve, Sunil proved that he was someone with that zing in him to be a bankable sidekick.
It was only waiting to happen. Turning lead actor in Andala Ramudu, the ace comedian banked on his dancing skills and portraying sympathetic act. He was almost the talk of the town when SS Rajamouli made him his Maryada Ramanna, which was set in Seema. However, what even this film did not give him, Poola Rangadu has.
Building a six-packs body as a bonus, but relying on his quirky style of comedy, quintessential dance moves and sentiment, he stole the hearts. In the words of his director, the film has given him the image of a commercial hero.
Sunil may well reach new heights if only he surprises us in new ways. At a time when the industry is suffering from a poverty of ideas/stories, Sunil offers the writers the unique inspiration to coalesce old-style concepts into 21st century elements!
