Wrapped in love – To Silambarasan

Listen to Silambarasan's Birthday Spl on Raaga.com

What do we call him? A hero, a great dancer, a director, story and screenplay writer, a sensible judge for reality shows or all this rolled into one? The list that this guy can do at this young age is endless and he dons all these multi-faceted roles with equal ease and poise.

We are talking about none other than Thesingu Rajender Silambarasan more popularly known as Silambarasan or the ‘little superstar’. Born to a talented father T.R. Rajender and Usha, Silambarasan showed excellent acting skills even as a child artist performing in his dad’s films. He got his first break to act as a hero at a very young age of 19 in ‘Kadhal Azhivathillai’.

Though Silambarasan’s first film did not create any ripples in Kollywood, his next films like 'Kuthu', 'Alai' and 'Koil' showed his talents a versatile actor. He got a name for himself as romantic young actor with style as his benchmark.

It was ‘Manmadhan’, which followed soon, established his place in Kollywood. Silambarasan had devoted almost one full year for the making of this flick and it paid off well for this ‘little’ superstar.

Silambarasan was paired opposite, the then reigning queen of Kollywood, Jyothika. Silambarasan was not only the hero of ‘Manmadhan’ but he had also donned other roles like penning the story and screenplay for the movie, and did an excellent job at that as well. The film earned rave reviews and changed many peoples’ minds about Silambarasan’s career.

‘Manmadhan’ became a runaway hit at the box-office breaking many records especially in Madurai, and it ran for 275 days. Silambarasan was able to flaunt his acting, dancing and fighting skills in this film apart from his behind-the-camera skills.

Like a true Aquarian that he is, Silambarasan is a dreamer who not only dreams big but also conquers his dreams most of the time. He dared to wield the megaphone in his film ‘Vallavan’ acting opposite Nayantara, which was a Deepavali release during 2006. He proved successful as a director as well.

Despite other films of big stars releasing during the same time, ‘Vallavan’ was a big hit. Apart from having a very busy life Silambarasan has devoted some of his time to be a judge in Vijay TV’s reality show ‘Jodi Number One’ just because of his love for dancing. Though he sometimes gets into the eye of controversy, the way he handles himself and the situation is simply astounding and more mature than his age.

This style icon of the present day youth is celebrating his 25th birthday tomorrow and we at IndiaGlitz wish him a very long and happy life. We hope that Silambarasan entertains us with many more hit films this year and in many more that follow!
