When Shruthi Haasan made her debut down South, it was a Telugu movie. It was 'Anaganaga O Dheerudu' (2011), which turned out to be a Box Office dud. In an industry given to giving uneducated tags to actors/directors/whoever, a fairly good film like 'Oh! My Friend' (2011) not doing well did not save her from being given the 'iron leg' tag. This was despite the commercial success of '7th Sense'.

The Telugu and Tamil versions of '3' sanked without a trace. Then happened 'Gabbar Singh' and since then she hasn't had to look back. Now, she became a 'Golden Lege' overnight, complete with capital 'G' and 'L'!

In the last two years, films like 'Yevadu', 'Race Gurram', and 'Srimanthudu' have catapulted her to stardom like never before, with the last two films being among the top six grossers in Telugu film industry's history till date!

The year gone by was a swashbuckling one for her. Besides being paired up with Mahesh Babu here, she was cast opposite the two biggest stars of today's generation in Tamil - namely, Vijay, and Ajith. In 2016 she will be seen romancing Suriya in 'S3', directed by Hari.
